This makes it possible to study the molecular mechanisms that cause cellular proliferation, as well as treatment resistance. Such analyzes will fundamentally change the way we diagnose and treat cancer patients, and also give us the opportunity for much more personalized therapy.<\/p>\n<p>At K.G. Jebsen Center for Genome-Directed Therapy in Cancer, we will conduct new clinical trials on several different cancer forms. This will be done in order to investigate how changes in the cancer genome affect sensitivity to treatment and how cancer therapy should be designed to exploit the genetic defects present in cancer cells. In particular, we will focus on breast cancer, colon cancer, sarcoma, lung cancer and bladder cancer as well as prostate and head&amp;neck cancer.
