The Piano Academy’s vision is to offer talented pianists an education of the highest possible international standard.

The academy was founded by professor Jiri Hlinka. In 2015, his former pupils, the pianists Leif Ove Andsnes, Geir Botnen, Håvard Gimse and Christina Ihle Hadland, took over artistic and educational responsibility. The aim is to further develop the academy as an arena for artistic development for pupils and performers at the start of their professional carers as pianists.

In addition to offering master classes, the academy has established a mentor programme for particularly talented young pupils.
