K.G. Jebsen Centre for Research on Neuropsychiatric Disorders

The centre studies causal factors and mechanisms behind common mental disorders, with the main emphasis on ADHD and related conditions that entail weakened impulse control.

Unlike somatic illnesses, there are no laboratory tests that can confirm the diagnoses, and only minimal progress has been made in pharmacological treatment in the past 50 years. This is largely because we lack knowledge about the disease mechanisms underlying such conditions.
