Rosendal Chamber Music Festival 2023 7.-10. August 2023
“One of the most interesting classical music festivals in the world” according to the Norwegian Broadcasting Cooperations (NRK) music critic Eystein Sandvik, will be held for the seventh time at Baroniet Rosendal in August 2023.
The popular Rosendal Chamber Music Festival has today announced the program for 2023 and starts selling tickets. This year’s focus is on Johannes Brahms, a famous composer from the German Romantic period. The program also includes some works by György Ligeti, a Hungarian composer considered one of the most important post-World War II composers who would have turned 100 years in 2023. The concerts will be performed by international star musicians.
Also in 2023, Stiftelsen Kristian Gerhard Jebsen financially supports the festival as part of the foundation’s investment in selected high-quality cultural projects in Western Norway. The foundation has supported the Rosendal Chamber Music Festival since 2016 and has thereby contributed to the festival’s goal of establishing itself as one of the leading chamber music festivals in Norway and Europe as well as giving young Norwegian chamber musicians opportunities to interact with top national and international musicians
Artistic director of the festival is Leif Ove Andsnes.
