K.G. Jebsen Academy for young researchers award ceremony 2022
The K.G. Jebsen academy for young researchers conducted its second autumn gathering October 17th and 18th at Jegtvolden Fjordhotel. The academy´s prizes for the best publication and the best dissemination were awarded for the second time.

The winners were announced at the second day of the gathering which was organized together with the annual meeting of the K.G. Jebsen centres for medical research.
The prize for the best publication was awarded to
Dr. Chloé Beate Steen for the publication “Atlas of clinically distinct cell states and ecosystems across human solid tumors” published in the journal Cell.
Dr. Steen is a post-doctoral researcher at the K.G. Jebsen Center for B-cell Malignancies at the University of Oslo. As a part of the award ceremony, she was invited to present her research at the joint academy and research center meeting. The title of her presentation was: “Large Scale Determination of Cell and Cellular Ecosystems in Human Malignancies”.

The prize for the best dissemination action was awarded to Dr. Brooke Woolford.
Dr. Woolford is a post-doctoral researcher at the K. G. Jebsen center for Genetic Epidemiology at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). She researchers Polygenetic Scores (PGS) which can be markers of a persons genetical risk for disease and might be targets for precision medicine. Since 2021 Dr. Woolford has presented her research on PGS to a broad specter of peers and has contributed to the ongoing multidisciplinary discussion on how to utilize PGS in clinical practice. Through her work she has been invited to present at several prestigious symposia and conferences.
